Running – Day 13

5-2 X 3 is tough… I feel breathless during the last minute of these 5 minutes.

Also, I think running at night is not the right thing for me to do. I can feel the food getting all jumbled up in the tummy while running. I would try to shift to the mornings from tomorrow.

Music is helping me to run. But I would advise you to suite yourself. I guess if you like being alone, you would enjoy your runs without the music, but if you hate being alone (like me), you should run with it.

Healthy Juices

On the way to Lalgagh, we saw someone selling something out of 15-20 Containers (the kinds that are used to get milk from mother dairy in Delhi). Himanshu mentioned that in Mumbai, they sell Mixed Fruit Juice out of similar containers on Juhu and they mix juices as per your wish. We took a U turn and went back to that shop. He said these are Ayurvedic Juices and we wanted to explore further. He had Karela, Loki, Kari Patta, Carrot, Tulsi, Amla, Bhrahmi, Neem, Lime, Aloe and around 10 more different things. An uncle standing came and asked for a juice “Neem, Karela”, looked at us and said “It is good for Sugar”. Himanshu confirmed that his father has also been prescribed the same juice. We decided to give it a shot and you know what, don’t even try to taste the neem karela combination, and just gulp the entire glass of juice. We tried a few combinations and then left. In the car the unanimous first reaction was “it woke me up” and then discussion started around why these juices are healthy and no one cares.

We reached Lalbagh and found out there is a similar shop there as well. After the run we had tried a few more juice combinations. He sells around 100 juices every Sunday and around 70 on a weekday. Wow! If these many people come to him to have these juices every day, then just imagine how many people come to Lalbagh everyday!

BTW it was just Rs. 10 per glass at the shop near Lalbagh and Rs. 7 per glass at the shop on the way to Lalbagh.

Running – Day 12

Ran for 2 Miles today ( Just 24 consecutive miles to go ;) )

Dharmendra told me that there is a Marathon in Feburary in Pondicherry. I am aiming to complete that :) He also mentioned that anyone, even a sumo can train for a marathon in 18 weeks. I like to believe I am in a good shape than a sumo, so it shouldn’t be impossible ;)

Running in L&T South City during weekdays and in Lalbagh on Sunday’s is working out to be a good thing for me. I have lost a couple of kilos since I started running. It is partly due to the diet control and partly coz of running, either ways what matters is that I am losing weight :)

[I wish I had done this earlier in my life, instead of trying to follow a stupid shortcut]

Running – Day 11

I switched from the 3-2 X 4 to 5-2 X 3 (i.e. 5 min Run, 2 Min Walk 3 times) today. I hadn’t thought it would be a big deal moving from 3 to 5 mins of continuous running, but for me, it was. I think I would stick on to 5-2 X 3 for next 4-5 days, but lets see.

I am ready for the 2 miles tomorrow :)

Running – Day 10

Today wasn’t that great :(

I completed 3-2 X 4 and headed back home after a long cool down walk.
